TONY BLAIR, BUSH’S FALTERING ALLY
Primary Ally Draws Down Iraqi Forces
Tony Blair’s
popularity polls have fallen even lower than those of President
Bush. Blair has suffered a steady decline because of his support
of the Iraq war. Now, Bush’s primary ally in “the
coalition of the willing” has announced a draw-down
of British troops in Basra, the critical port city through
which U.S. troops in Baghdad are supplied. This is a potential
disaster. While British and American leaders attempt to put
a positive spin on the situation, many in the public are unconvinced.
Tony
Blair was born May 6, 1953 at 6:10 AM in Edinburgh, Scotland
(view chart).
The first indicator of his perseverance and commitment is
his SUN in TAURUS. Supporting his determination is his MOON
in the FIXED sign of socially conscious AQUARIUS.
Blair’s
flair comes from his MARS conjunct his ASCENDANT both in the
youthful, flexible and lively sign of GEMINI. A classic debater.
Also, Blair’s
Ruling Planet, VENUS, as well as his MERCURY (planet of communication),
are both in the dynamic leadership sign of ARIES
His combination
of determination and agility has helped him to become, after
10 years in office, the longest serving Prime Minister in
British history. However, all this seems to be unraveling.
One indicator
of this unraveling is shown by a one of Blair’s native
talents coming under overwhelming stress.
In Blair’s
birth chart, he has SATURN (structure) CONJUNCT NEPTUNE (idealism)
in the partnership sign of LIBRA. He has been the strongest
ally of the U.S., believing as Bush did that it would be possible
to create a democratic Iraq. However, planetary patterns now
in the sky describe disillusion of this dream.
Although in Blair’s
birth chart, SATURN and NEPTUNE had a positive influence,
now SATURN and NEPTUNE, in tense opposition to each other,
are showing a negative expression. SATURN insists upon Reality
while NEPTUNE dissolves that reality.
How many worldwide
alliances are wobbling under this challenging combination?
The whole Middle
East has reached a critical stage. In mid-March, Iraq will
host a conference of regional leaders and other countries
like the U.S. and Britain. At that time the fiery planet MARS
will be triggering off this SATURN-NEPTUNE opposition. Optimistically
one could hope that creative solutions can be found to practical
matters. On the other hand, it is more likely that there will
be further chaos.
This challenging
SATURN-NEPTUNE opposition in the sky has now occurred twice.
The final SATURN-NEPTUNE opposition occurs this June. Blair
is due to fade from the scene and how many others will be
gone?
