JUSTICE O’CONNOR RESIGNS
A Fateful Time for the U.S.
The resignation
of Sandra Day O’Connor from the Supreme Court marks
an important time for our country. She has been the “swing
vote” in the Court and described by some as perhaps
the most powerful woman in U.S. history. Her replacement by
a Bush nominee may define his legacy as much as any other
act of his term in office.
It is
fascinating to see how the three charts of Bush, O’Connor
and the U.S. connect to each other, and observe how the point
at which they connect is being impacted by a key astrological
indicator in the sky. The degree of the zodiac where the connection
occurs is 18 degrees LIBRA.
President
Bush (view chart)
has his JUPITER at 18 degrees Libra. JUPITER is associated
with Justice, as is the sign of LIBRA, which is represented
by the scales of Justice.
Justice
O’Connor (view
chart) has her VENUS at 18 LIBRA. VENUS shows what or
whom one loves. She is apparently leaving work she loves to
spend more time with her family and a husband in poor health.
The U.S.
Progressed MARS is now at 18 degrees LIBRA (*). MARS is the
planet of battle. We are already at war in Iraq and do not
need another bruising battle on the domestic front.
The current
astrological indicator in the sky which is impacting the above
three charts is the SOUTH NODE of the MOON which is now at
18 Libra. The MOON’S NODES (**) are considered to be
as important as planets in a chart. The SOUTH NODE tends to
show matters related to the past or where there is a draining
of energy.
For BUSH,
the SOUTH NODE on his JUPITER (often a key descriptor of law
and justice) shows that his Administration is focusing on
the departure of O’Connor.
Of course,
for Justice O’Connor, who has served impressively on
the Court for 24 years (see note below), it is not unnatural
at the age of 75 to turn her attention to caring for others
and having a new focus in retirement.
Meanwhile,
in the U.S. chart, Progressed MARS is at 18 degrees of LIBRA.
The fact that the U.S. Progressed MARS has just turned Retrograde
demonstrates a critical turning point for the whole country.
Bush now has an opportunity to put his nominee on the Court.
We can only hope that the President and Congress can succeed
in quickly agreeing on a new Justice instead of getting into
a partisan brawl.
